Another day
Another year
Moved on to a brand new city
I'd like to find a new ear
Who'd like to hear all my stories
And I can start a new life
Try to be a good wife
And grow in the garden with the things I love
I'll grow in the garden with the things I love
We keep trying to get together
But the weather's been so bad
The rain keeps falling, following you around
But I have no doubt
If the sun comes out there'd be
A rainbow hanging over you
A rainbow hanging over you
Your eyes are so deep
Every time you smile
I fall in and it takes me all day to climb back out
I fall in and it takes me all day to climb back out
Some call it love
Some call it luck
But I'm so happy
I don't really try to call it anything except you and me
Don't try to call it anything except you and me
And you found a good job
You have a nice house
Even made friends with the neighbors
So for the rest of the day you can stay
In the backyard playing guitar.
So for the rest of the day you can stay
In the backyard playing guitar.
Come on darling don't be such a fair weathered friend
We've all got storms inside of us
No use hiding trust me
The rain is gonna fall 'round here every once in awhile
But I have do doubt
When the sun comes out
There'll be a rainbow hanging over you
A rainbow hanging over you.
And I would tell you that I am lonely
Only you don't need to hear that
I think too much
I feel too much
I jump at the slightest touch
Of a friendship of a smile
Wait, please stay a while longer
I'll make the coffee stronger
And we can talk all night
I'll make the coffee stronger
And we can talk all night
They say it's gonna rain all day
Let's go for a walk anyway
That's a free invitation for some conversation
And maybe some good wine
If you've got time under your umbrella
I've got space under mine
Same Song ©1996, Julie Patchouli
Same song I wrote when I was sixteen
Different words, Seem to mean the same thing
Heart To Heart
We all start back at the beginning
So let's take a walk 'cause it's been a while
Since I held the hand of the woman that bared the child
Of the woman I've become
Oh ho
You laugh like it wasn't very long ago
But years fly by in the blink of an eye
Yeah years disappear and still you and I are trying to make up for lost days
I fear it isn't fair to tell you how I feel
Being realistic is my biggest mistake
So I'll just sit on the lake
Ride on the wind
Fall out the boat
And begin to swim to shore before I drowned in these memories
Of you and me
The phone is so deceiving
I cannot see you leaving me behind
When we hang up and we walk away
There's still so much we'd like to say
But we'll talk about it another day
I love you, You love me
So come on mamma lets be a family
Climbing up the family tree looking down what do I see
Down in the ground the roots grow from the mamma from the earth
Same song I wrote when I was sixteen, Different words,
Seem to mean the same thing
Out There © 1998, Julie Patchouli
Let's get in the car and drive away
Into the country for the day
Leave this city
Leave it all behind
I need to find peace of mind
I've got a picnic packed
And I'm ready to go
I threw the map away with the remote control
The clock is broken
I unplugged the phone
I have no idea when we'll be coming home
WAY OUT THERE in the land that I know
We'll BREATHE THE AIR and watch the trees and the flowers grow
Where THE BIG BLUE SKY meets the green brown earth below
The radio's on and the windows down
My hairs pulled back but it's blowing around
You're happy and so am I
'Cause the sun is shinning as the land flies by
On the road just a little short while
Looking out the window I see you smiling
On the road just a little short while
Looking out the window I see you smile
Parked the car
It wasn't that far
Till we jumped out
turned around
Looked up and looked down
There wasn't anybody else around
WAY OUT THERE in the land that I know
We'll BREATHE THE AIR and watch the trees and the flowers grow
Where THE BIG BLUE SKY meets the green brown earth below
Out where the sun shines
Past all the Power lines
We go there to remember
It's a beautiful day for a walk in the woods
Holding your hand it feels so good
We'll be down at the bottom of the hill soon
Where the lake is blue is and the lilies bloom
On this walk for quite a long while
Looking at the ground I can see you smiling
On this walk for quite a long while
Looking at the ground I can see you smiling
We lost our path
And we began to laugh
Found ourselves in a field of flowers
Guess we'll stay a couple more hours
WAY OUT THERE in the land that I know
We'll BREATHE THE AIR and watch the trees and the flowers grow
Where THE BIG BLUE SKY meets the green brown earth below
Out where the sun shines
Past all the Power lines
We go there to remember
The Woods © 2001, Julie Patchouli
I go to the woods to feel good
I go to the river to let my mind run
I go to the mountain to gain perspective
I go to the fields to open up
I look to the lake to reflect
I look to the sky to imagine
I travel highways to go somewhere new
Can it be healed?
Can it be healed with chemicals?
Can it be healed?
Can it be healed with the physical?
This anger is hard to love
This anger is hard to embrace
But sometimes as much as it hurts
We still need to find our way out
We still need to find our way out
I go to the woods to feel good
I go to the river to let my mind run
I go to the mountain to gain perspective
I go to the fields to open up
I look to the lake to reflect
I look to the sky to imagine
I travel highways to go somewhere new
Open up
Open up your mind
Open up
Open up the door
A visitor of my emotion
A visitor of my frustration
Abuse has always been easy
It’s love that takes practice and patience
It’s love that takes practice and patience
My God this dog is howling
Sunshine Baby © 1998, Julie Patchouli
You are my baby
My sunshine baby
Countless nuclear explosions a million miles away
And it feels so good
And it feels so good
You are so beautiful to me
You let your light shine in your smile for all to see
Your brilliant wisdom and your glowing insight
The hidden source on a moondawg night
When you left me you left me in the dark
Then I reached in the pocket of my soul and I found a little spark
You left my heart aflame and your words burned on
They said " take this light baby and pass it on " pass it on
Hide © 2003, Julie Patchouli
I wish that we could hide down here all night
Until they think we disappeared
And then we’d come back up
They’d be gone
I’d kiss you good night
You’d kiss me good morn’
What is this attraction that seems to happen every time our eyes meet
Tell me what’s this feeling before us that is so sweet
Why when you leave me do I carry it around?
Like a treasure beneath a smile that no one else has found
Where can I hide it so no one else will see
What happens when you turn to looks at me
I wish that we could hide down here all night
Until they think we disappeared
And then we’d come back up
They’d be gone
I’d kiss you good night
You’d kiss me good morn’
You don’t hesitate to captivate me when you walk in the room
The warmth is so contagious between us that I can’t move
I sing a song of silence with this crowd there is no choice
A quest that I can reach you other than with my voice
To touch you with my thoughts of my soul through your skin
So open up your pores and breathe me in
I wish that we could hide down here all night
Until they think we disappeared
And then we’d come back up
They’d be gone
I’d kiss you good night
You’d kiss me good morn’
I look at you through the rear view mirror
A memory of how we used to see each other
I wish that we could hide down here all night
Until they think we disappeared
And then we’d come back up
They’d be gone
I’d kiss you good night
You’d kiss me good morn’
A Simple Word © Julie Patchouli, 2000
A simple word
A simple phrase
To mark this place
Which you have made
Because when I walked in
The room was full
Now all you see
Is reflections of me
Reflections of me
When I walked in
It's his soul song written long before I knew
It's his soul song and it carries him through
I hate
That it hurts you
That I'm happy here
But I'm happy here
So happy here
Oh so happy here
And I am oh so sorry
That you’re so sad
Yeah I am so sorry that you’re so sad
I wish I could give you
A simple word A simple phrase
To mark this place
Which you have made
Because when I walked in
The room was full
Now all you see
Is reflections of me
Reflections of me
When I walked in
It's his soul song written long before I knew
It's his soul song and it carries him through

The Day We Let Go ©,2001, Julie Patchouli
Say you want some freedom
Definition of separation from this place
That you’ve grown up but you’ve grown in
And you can’t seem to find the lines to erase
That’s where we begin
On the day
The day we let go
I saw you float away
But everything kept happening
The day we let go
I knew it right away
And then I saw the opening
The day we let go
Everything is so familiar here
It’s the mystery of we
It’s the history of us
It’s the distance from the strange
To the new to the trust
It was innocent at the start
But with each smile you made your way into my head
In my mind you moved in
And we begin our mornings
With philosophy
Over coffee
Tea jam and bread
And we’re fed
For the day
The day we let go
I saw you float away
But everything kept happening
The day we let go
I knew it right away
And then I saw the opening
The day we let go
You listen while I speak
I hear you disagree
Pushing me further than comfortability
I listen while you speak
I hear the “I’s” become “We”
Taking us away from the formality
Ella’s Song ©, Julie Patchouli, 2000
When the night crawls in it's time to call it an end to the day
Laying down underneath the stars
Wondering if there's any other world like ours
Where a man is blue but the sky is too
And everybody loves everybody learns to live through it
Love
Sweet love
Is all they know
Love
Sweet love
Is all they know
The moon started smiling early in the evening just before the sun went down
The owl calls out to us all
Have you ever seen such a pretty fall?
Where a girl is down like a leaf on the ground
But everybody loves every body learns to live through it
Love
Sweet love
Is all they know
Love
Sweet love
Is all they know
Love Sweet love is all they know
Love Sweet love is all they know
Love Sweet love is all they know
Love Sweet love is all they know
When the night crawls in it's time to call it an end to the day

SITTING HERE IN THE SUNSHINE
WITH TWO FRIENDS OF MINE
I'VE GOT ONE MORE DAY
LEFT A WEEK AWAY FROM THE CITY
WHERE I FOUND MYSELF IN A CAR CRASH
THINGS THIS SUMMER WENT WAY TOO FAST
NOW I WALK THROUGH LIFE A LITTLE BIT SLOWER
BUT THAT'S ALRIGHT
IT'S OKAY
I'VE GOT PLENTY OF TIME
I'VE GOT PLENTY OF DAYS
I JUST HOPE THEY ALL GO SOMETHING LIKE THIS
AND AS THE WAVES ROLL IN
AND THE SUN GOES DOWN
AND THE NIGHT BEGINS
IT'S NO SURPRISE TO FIND MYSELF UNDER
STRAWBERRY BLUE SKIES
LAYING HERE IN THE MOONLIGHT
THE CHESIRE SMILE IS SO BRIGHT
I'VE GOT A BOTTLE OF WINE
AND SOME MOONSHINE IN THE SAND
THE SEVEN SISTERS ABOVE US
AS WE LAY UNDER STARS OF THE TAURUS
THEY SAY IT TAKES TILL MAY TO UNDERSTAND
BUT THAT'S OKAY
IT'S ALRIGHT
I'VE GOT PLENTY OF TIME
I'VE GOT PLENTY OF NIGHTS
I JUST HOPE THEY ALL GO SOMETHING LIKE THIS
AND AS THE WAVES ROLL IN
AND THE MOON GOES DOWN
AND THE DAY BEGINS
IT'S NO SURPRISE TO FIND MYSELF UNDER
STRAWBERRY BLUE SKIES
Strawberry Blues © 1996, Julie Patchouli
When I got the blues I kick off my shoes and I run into the trees
Free my feet bare in the mud, let my hair down in the breeze
When I pout I just start to shout in my head
"I love the Earth"
I run naked in the brush
scare the hell out of the traffic rush,
My simple soul laughs in rebirth
There's a tick in my head like I read last night
about Lyme's disease
Well Mr. parasite you'll have to fight
with the others get in line please
When I frown I look down to the ground and I find a
whole new land
a new community a new philosophy
I find there in my hand
when I cry I look up to the sky and I call out to my star
She says use your 3rd eye
it's easy if you try and you'll see how you've come this far
now there's ants in my pants when I sat an the ground
'cause I wear my shorts too high
always looking up never looking down always looking to the sky
wondering why?
when I'm in gloom I look to my moon and she smiles
with roses in her eyes
She tucks me in tight sings to me a goodnight
reflects the sunlight in her skies
when I'm hurt I dig into the dirt and I reach up to my sun
he holds me warm in his rays in his summer craze he plays with me dazy till my days are done.

River song ©, Julie Patchouli, 2001
I went down to the river this morning
and I thought I heard you say,
“I love you.”
But it must have been the water
because you turned you back and you walked the other way
And I don't know if I can tell you something
that will make you feel good.
Because I don't know if I can share my life with you
I don't know if I should.
And oh my life, it feels like it's coming apart oh
I don't know much about nothing but I still have my heart.
And oh my life, it feels like it's coming undone
I don't know much about nothing
But I fell in love with the sun.
Like a leaf tossed in the current
I wonder if I should float ashore.
But we both know I can't be part of that tree again.
I can't be part of what I thought I was before
Because I have fallen into the stream of my dreams
and I will follow them to the sea
and I will share myself with the world
and it will see the beauty you couldn't find in me.
And oh my life, it feels like it's coming apart oh
I don't know much about nothing but I still have my heart.
And oh my life, it feels like it's coming undone
I don't know much about nothing
But I fell in love with the sun.
I went down to the river this morning and I knew I heard it say
"Listen to me and
you will see how the world sometimes seems to slip away
And there beneath the afternoon moon you were lost in thought
you forgot what you've got.
Don't you know, if you follow the flow you will go where you are."
And though your life may feel like it's coming apart
The earth and the sun and the stars and the moon
all grow from your heart.
And though your life may feel like it's coming undone,
we are all one river and we all run to one sea.
I went down to the river this morning
